Canyonlands National Park
A 17 mile dirt road led to Mineral Bottom where I began my 52 mile, solo trip down the Green River through Labyrinth Canyon. The area is remote and services are non-existent. The nearest sign of civilization is the small town of Moab, which lies about 40 miles east of the river. This area of Canyonlands National Park, allows little margin for error. Although, the river is placid, the water is very cold, and there are very few people on the river in early May.
